We’re honored to support your health and wellness journey through the healing traditions of East Asian medicine. Treatments are available through both our student teaching clinic and our licensed professional practitioners, offering compassionate, individualized care in a supportive clinical environment.

Cancellation Policy

To support both the educational needs of our student interns and the scheduling needs of our community, we require at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or appointment changes. Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice, missed appointments, or arrivals more than 15 minutes late will be charged the full appointment fee. Payment is required prior to scheduling future treatments.

Repeated no-shows, late cancellations, or tardiness may result in referral out of the clinic and cancellation of any future appointments.

Atsuko Anzai DAIM, LAc, MSOM

Dr. Atsuko Anzai is a licensed acupuncturist in Japan and California, a Doctor of Acupuncture and Integrative Medicine (DAIM), a Master of Oriental Medicine (MSOM), a National Diplomate in Asian Medicine and Bodywork (NCCAOM), and an herbalist specializing in neuromuscular issues. She has practiced in Berkeley, CA, for over ten years. Atsuko integrates Japanese-style acupuncture that focuses on gentle needling techniques, including non-invasive contact needling, abdominal palpation, and moxibustion (moxa) therapy. She has been practicing as an acupuncturist in Japan and the US since 1995.

Her most commonly treated conditions are neck, shoulder, TMJ, elbow, wrist, lower back and knee pain. Atsuko also specializes in relieving chronic conditions such as digestive issues, anxiety and stress-related symptoms that are often related to traumatic experiences. An experienced professional practitioner, Dr. Anne Deng received the Doctorate Degree of Acupuncture and Integrative Medicine and Master Degree of Oriental Medicine from Acupuncture and Integrative Medicine College. She also studied Preventive Medicine and Health Care Administration and earned the Master Degree of Public Health from China Medical University in Taiwan, where she worked as a health practitioner and high level administrator implementing Taiwan’s excellent national health care system before immigrating to the United States. Gem is a Licensed Acupuncturist holding a Master’s of Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine from AIMC and a Doctorate in progress. Professor Zhang has been practicing acupuncture for over 45 years and has published numerous books and articles on Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) in his native China.
